Photography has always been a favorite hobby, I took my first photo at age 5. My father worked for the local newspaper, he taught me how to not only use my camera but to capture the emotion of the moment in my frame. We had our own darkroom at home and so taking and developing pictures was a favorite pastime growing up. As High School came i delved right into taking Yearbook and school paper Photos, i found a real enjoyment out of capturing those moments for everyone to see.
By word of mouth local bands started asking me to take photos for their album covers, or during their live shows, my confidence behind the camera began to grow.
In 2004 i moved to Halifax to get better training as a Cook and pushed my photography to the side for awhile, but always brought up i could take photos if anyone ever asked. Taking photos of friends and their pets, facility photos for places i worked to advertise, live shows pictures etc.
I love capturing moments, always bringing my camera with me to concerts, shows and birthdays.
It wasn’t until the Upstairs Apt Gallery came along that i started taking time to focus again on my photography projects. But this time something more. I found a real joy out of manipulating the photos on photoshop, either subtly or dramatically. To change almost the effect or moment itself.
I have no formal training as a photographer, just a lifetime of experience. I offer professional work at an affordable price. I am honest and if i feel my style doesn’t suit your project I can refer you to someone who does.
